I’ve always loved this poem, you have such amazing talent! How bittersweet it can be, the struggle of raising children–I find myself both celebrating and mourning each milestone. This one has always reminded me of Margaret and Carter and what a tragic and difficult experience that must have been for everyone. Oh, and I like the site–good job, I’m looking forward to seeing more on it.
Thanks for your thoughts. The poem was inspired by my 2-year old cousin’s tragic death, which left his mother treasuring his little hand prints of the marble coffee table, rather than tirelessly removing them.
